December2006: Eve of Christmas Eve

I cannot believe that it is going to be Christmas Eve in less than one hour. This year has gone fast, especially this past month. The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas flies. I still don't have all of my shopping done but it doesn't look like I am going to finish, either.

In the morning, I have to get up (pack?) and go to work. Afterwards (4:30 pm), I have to come home, finish packing and leave. I am going to miss the Christmas get-together on my father's side of the family this year. His side of the family gets together Christmas Eve and has dinner, exchanges gifts and spends time together. I won't be getting back into my hometown until between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm. :o(

On Christmas Day, we open gifts as a family and then in the early afternoon we have Christmas with my mother's side of the family. In the (quite long ago) past, we used to get together at my mother's parent's house. Not long after my Uncle John moved into his most recent house, we started gathering there. For some unknown reason (to me), this year we are getting together at my mother's parent's (now my Uncle Larry's) house. This will be the first time I will have stepped foot into that house since at least one of my grandparent's were still living. I may have been there after my grandmother passed away but before my grandfather passed away. I'm not entirely sure. Either way, it is going to be weird to be there without them. I'm curious, though, as to what things my Uncle Larry has changed and what things he hasn't. It could be a very emotional, too. :o\

June2006: On Two Feet

My cousin Matt dropped my brother Cole off into town last night so he could drive my car home to my parents' place. My dad has to do a few things to get my car before it can be inspected. It needs four new tires and a new muffler. It looks like I might be without my car for a month or two, which is going to suck big time. I can easily walk to work since it is just up the road, but without a car, I am devoid of the freedoms of driving to Walmart whenver I want or going somewhere else. Oh well, gas was getting a bit too expensive.

May2005: Three Weeks

In just three weeks from today, my parents will be here to help me move into my new place. I cannot wait. I'm excited. I want to move now. Alas, I still have to wait another three weeks. Blah.

May2005: "I'm Going Home..."

I'm all packed and ready to get on the road and head home to see my parents. I'll talk to everyone when I get back. I might have cell service at home...we'll find out how good Cingular's coverage is. See ya!

November2004: Let The Doors Open

I got my car doors fixed today. Now, I can finally open them without any trouble. Yay! I also had my oil changed and my antifreeze flushed. I should be good for winter now. Hopefully my doors don't freeze. :o)

July2004: New Stuff

I'm at home with my mother and we're waiting for my father to get off work. When he gets home, he is going to check one more thing on my car before I head back to State College. They will be down tomorrow morning around 8:00am to drop off my living room furniture, dresser, end tables, coffee table, kitchen items (including new T-Fal Cookware). But, I have to go home tonight and clean up a bit before they come down. Our place isn't really a mess, I just need to tidy up some things so that they can easily move furniture around our apartment.

July2004: Still Redneck...

I was talking to my mother yesterday, while I was at work, and she was making beer chicken. As stated in a previous post, they are way too redneck for me. I'm heading home Tuesday after work and I will be there for about twenty-four hours (not too long). Hopefully it doesn't rub off on me, lol.

April2004: Back In State College

It's nice to be back in State College (currently called home). While I love my family to death and I enjoy being home with my mother, father, and strange brothers, I can only take so much of my extended family. They are way too redneck for me. Either way, I did have a really good weekend and I got my car fixed (more on that later).
