May2007: Pond Installed

DateYesterday we installed the pond. Cole, Frank and myself installed the underlayment. We used builders sand, which just happened to be orange and we topped it off with several layers of wet newspaper. Diane, one of Frank's friends and a coworker arrived and she helped us position the Firestone EPDM pond liner into position. Frank and I removed out shoes and go into the pond and started to flatten out the liner and fold over excess liner to form to the shape of the pond. I was very excited because you could see the final shape and look of the pond without the water. How long would it take to fill the pond? We were about to find out. We timed how long it took to fill a one-gallon milk jug and used that in conjunction with how long it took to fill the pond to figure out how many gallons were in the pond when filled. And, we used the water meter's gauge. We used both because neither was going to give us a perfect-to-the-gallon result since I could stop my other roommates from using water while we were filling up the pond, and because it is always better to have two sources to base your results. I still don't know the exact water volume because I had to work when the pond was topped off after the rocks were placed around the edge of the pond, so I will have to figure that out. But, I will post it later.

May2007: Pond Beginnings

A month or so back, I got the idea to install a garden pond to enhance the beauty of our backyard. I did my homework and scoured the Internet for everything imaginable pertaining to the topic of planning, designing, creating, maintaining, stocking and landscaping a backyard pond. I couldn't wait to get started! I began drawing a layout for the pond on graph paper and after several revisions I finalized the size and shape of the pond as well as the location -- one step closer. The next step was the excavation of the area where the pond was to be located. The location works out very well because it will mix well with Frank's elevated flower garden.

This past Sunday, Frank and I went to Pondz Fest at AZ Ponds in Birdsboro, PA and bought the necessary supplies needed to build a backyard pond -- another step closer. I am thrilled at this point. I read every page of every instruction manual that came with the pond supplies.

Hopefully, I will remember to post a picture of the excavated pond location before we install the pond liner.

December2006: Almost 2007

Last post of the year! I work from noon to 5pm today, which sucks. Then, Bree and Rusty are coming over and the we are all having dinner before we head over to Rusty's parents' house to ring in the New Year. That should be fun, yes? Honestly, I have no idea. I'm probably going to be bored out of my mind. Oh well. *shrugs*

I have so much laundry to do. Frank keeps telling me that it is bad luck to start the New Year with dirty laundry. I've never heard that before. It doesn't matter, anyway, because Samantha and Frank have been doing laundry non-stop since the beginning of the week - no joke! The washer and the dryer have practically been running 24/7. There isn't enough time in the day to get all of Frank's laundry done, let alone even think about doing m own.

December2006: Pre-Christmas Chaos

I am so tired; I can barely keep my eyes open. I should be in bed. I should go to bed. *yawns*

I don't have time to do anything except work and sleep anymore. I rarely have time to eat! Blah. On a good note, however, I am going to get to see my parents this Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. It'll be nice to spend some time with them, albeit Christmas chaos! I'm heading home this Sunday and I'll be back this Tuesday evening; I work early the next morning.

Little Girl had her puppies this past Monday - six of them! She has been such a good mother and she's almost always with them/nursing them. But, she is laying on my feet in the living room. How cute.

I only work one job tomorrow. Luckily, I think, I don't work either job this Saturday, but I think I work one of my jobs Sunday. Today is my first day off from both Weis and Tuesday Morning in over two weeks. It feels so nice to findally have a day "off" to myself. I am planning on putting up the Christmas tree today and decorating it. I'm also going to try and decorate the rest of the house, but I don't know how easily that will be accomplished because we don't have a ladder. I'm also going to clean the basement, wash dishes, and do my laundry today. Honestly, I don't have much of a choice because I don't have time any other day of the week to work on it. Tomorrow morning Frank and I are going to build a whelping box for Li'l Girl and her soon-to-be puppies.

November2006: Home Alone?

Last night I started my new part-time job for the holidays and to pay for my laptop, which I just order last night (more on that later). My part-time job wasn't bad, actually. I kind of liked it. It is very easy and the time goes by really quickly, just the way I like it.

Samantha and her crew went out last night to their favourite hick bar. They went out several nights ago and when they came back, the upstairs reeked of alcohol. I wanted to puke. This morning, the upstairs reeks of alcohol and is a pig sty. *shrugs*

As previously mentioned, I ordered my new laptop last night. I called Toshiba Direct to get more information about the particular laptop that I configured. I was in luck, because I talked to an English-speaking person, which is always nice. He helped me out with all of my laptop-related questions and told me that he would take a discount off the price of the laptop equivalent to the tax, effectively taking off the tax. I was excited and immediately told him that I would like to purchase the laptop. Tax on a purchase of that price is a quite a bit of money, so I definitely had to take advantage of his offer. Now, I just have to wait!

Frank is back at home with his family because his grandmother passed away earlier this week. This time of year (Thanksgiving through the New Year) is probably the worst time that it could have happened, but they are dealing with it as any family would. The viewing was yesterday and the funeral is today. I know it is tough to lose someone, especially someone that has a large role in family functions. I lost my grandparents (on my mother's side) several years back and I know it was hard on my mother and her brothers/sisters. It sucks. :o(

November2006: Attempt Two

Just like last year, I am making the Coconut Custard Pie a second time. Last year, however, I didn't know to put aluminum foil on the crust to keep it from browning too quickly under the high temperature. This year I managed to over-brown the crust. It didn't burn; it was browner than what I had hoped for. So, I got up extra early this morning so that I could bake another pie before leaving for work. Let's keep our fingers cross that this one comes out perfectly. I can't show up to Thanksgiving dinner with a pie that looks worse than last year's pie!

November2006: Thanksgiving Baking

I've been baking for most of the evening since I got home from work and I'm beat. First, I attempted at a Pumpking Coffee Cake recipe, but that flopped. In no way did it resemble or taste like a coffee cake. In fact, it was flat and carmalized. I'll have to see if I can find a decent coffee cake recipe and modify it! I moved on to make the Pumpking Crumble Cake that was requested by several people. I made it last year for Thanksgiving and it was a hit. Why not again, right? Right now I have a Coconut Custard Pie in the oven. It is the same recipe as I made last year for Thanksgiving. It was also requested for this year. To add something new this year, I am going to make a Peaches 'n Cream Pie. It is SO good, but it doesn't travel well. So, I am going to make it Thanksgiving day and hopefully it turns out; I'll only have one chance!

November2006: Recap

I'll start by recapping this past weekend. I had Saturday off, which is always nice. I relaxed at home with the dogs and watching some TV. Amy wanted me to meet her for lunch but I was showering when she called, so I missed out on that opportunity. After she got out of work she came over to my house and we hung out. Cole (a.k.a. Dexter), Frank, and Ashleigh were already here by the time Amy got out of work. I fell asleep while we watched The DaVinci Code.

Sunday, I didn't do a lot, either. I had to work a short afternoon shift from 1:00pm to 5:00pm so that put a kink in my day. But, at least the shift was short! Afterwards, Amy met me at work where she picked up some things to make English Muffin pizzas. They weren't too bad, actually. I picked Frank up from work just before 7:00pm and he had some mini pizzas, too. We started to work on a jigsaw puzzle of the "Las Vegas Strip" in Las Vegas, Nevada. We didn't finish by the time Desperate Housewives was over, when Frank and I left. I'm not sure what Amy did with the puzzle because the last time we left a puzzle on her dining room table. One (or more) of her cats decided to eat the pieces!

That brings us to Monday! So far I haven't done much of anyting other than eat a bowl of cereal, put a load of laundry in the washer (and now the dryer), take the dogs outside to do their business and tidy up the kitchen from Saturday's get-together. I'm eagerly waiting for a check to deposit into my bank account so that I can order my new laptop. I'm so excited. Once ordered, then comes the painful wait for it to be built and shipped. Blah

July2006: Yard Work

I managed to get a lot of weeding done today. There are these stupid vine things that grow several feet a day, I swear. Every day they have grown up the sunflowers and will eventually pull them to the ground. I rip them off an out of the ground, but they just keep coming back. It's uncanny how quickly they grow. If only good vegetation such as treets, fruits and vegetable could grow that quickly!

I also trimmed up some of the strawberry plants by removing some of the crazy-long runners and repotting the ones with good root systems. Now we have almost twice as many plants that we started with earlier this summer. In fact, there are plenty out there to triple or quadruple the amount we started with!

We also managed to mow the lawn today. It needed to be mowed. It should have been mowed a week or two ago. It was nearing 8 or 10 inches in length! Now it looks real pretty. :o)

They were going to tie me up and put me in the trunk of their car and drive around town for a few minutes so I didn't know where I was going. Can you say Jawbreaker! I had today off and I didn't really do anything. I lounged around most of the morning with Frank before he went to work. The plumber was supposed to be here today to install an overflow tank for the water heater, but s/he never showed up. I was told that the water would have to be shut off, so I hadn't started any laundry or washed any dishes. Argh. Honestly, if I were allowed to skip that and if I wasn't so hungry by that point, I would most likely skip that as well. I have great time-management skills when I put my mind to it and Weis Markets is challenging that!

July2006: Tail of Two Kitties: Part Two

I received the following IM from Amy.

omg, we finally caught him. i went to meet ashleigh at walmart around 11 and we shopped and when we got back we sat around outside calling him, i didn't think we'd get him tonight but all of a sudden i spotted him with the light just sitting there so i crept up into the woods while ashleigh held the light and he was a little scared at first but then he came over to say hello and i snatched him up. he left some gashes in my arm and a hole in my shirt, but he's inside now, eating the tuna, and i got him a name tag while i was at walmart in case he ever gets out again. i just can't believe he's back!!!

Everything turned out fine with the exception that Amy is now covered in bruises and scratches from various thorned bushes, rocks and one upset kitty. Tonight Amy and I are going to have ground turkey burgers. Hopefully we won't lose another night and spend all night outside shaking pet food treat containers and shouting the pet's name. What a day!

July2006: Tail of Two Kitties

One is fat; the other is tiny. One is old(er); the other is young(er). One hisses; the other meows. These are the two kitties of Ashleigh and Amy and this is their tale.

It all began last night. I went over to Ashleigh and Amy's place because Amy and I were going to have ground chicken tacos for dinner because we bought ground chicken at nearly half price. I set up my laptop on the dining room table while Amy was cooking the ground chicken. Shortly after, dinner was ready. We sat down to eat. The cats were running around the apartment. After dinner we sat at the dinner table and talked for a while and then Amy decided that she needed to take her cat out for a walk. She bought a harnessed small dog leash the other night and "walked" her cat the night before. There really wasn't any "walking" of the cat; it just sat there on the ground flapping its tail back and forth. Then, it made a bolt for the tiny little dried-up stream just outside of their apartment. Gone. The cat squeezed out of the harnesh leash and bolted up into the hillside woods/weeds meowing all the while. Without a thought Amy ran up into the heavy brush after the cat. An hour or so later, she finally came out of the woods almost giving up for the night. She decided to put a can of tuna fish outside of the apartment hoping that the cat might come back (and not one of the other neighborhood wild cats). It was at this point that I went home because I was so tired and needed to get some sleep. Amy, however, continued to look for her cat.

I even made the pumpkin roll batter without any problems and I doublt-checked the recipe several times, so I don't know where I could have went wrong. But, while it was in the oven baking, it rose much more than it was supposed to. It ended up being 2 1/2-inches thick when it was only supposed to be 1/2-inch thick. Damn. It was way too thick to roll, so we sliced it up and put the filling on top, somewhat like a standard cake. I still want to make a proper Pumpkin Roll. It just wasn't the same to eat the cake warm with the filling on top. The roll should be refrigerated and cold when it is sliced an eaten. Oh well.

Last night was the first night since I met Frank that we didn't get a chance to see one another. It felt...different. I kept picturing his cute smiling face and I could imagine his lips pressed against mine, but he wasn't there. I know we can't be together all of the time. It's just that it was the first time since we met that we haven't been together. *sigh*

On another note, everything else is going well. I still love our new place and our party is hastily approaching. Yikes! Work is, well, just work.

Honestly, I don't know where to begin. The guy that I mentioned in my last post is absolutely amazing. He is such a beautiful person and he is so adorable. I have a hard time letting him go home. I think about him all of the time. This feeling is something that I haven't felt in an extremely long time.

July2005: Happy Independence Day!

Where to begin? I haven't made a post in a long time because I have been so busy with our recent move and life has been so crazy. Work is going well. I still love my job, for the most part. I love our new house. And, I love living with Samantha, Michele and George. We sit down and eat a home-cooked meal every night. It is really nice. Then, usually after dinner we go outside to our deck/porch/patio and have coffee and dessert and sometimes we work on the crossword puzzle. It is a lot of fun.

Last night we had a group of friends over and we sat outside and drank wine and enjoyed conversation. Then, as we do every Sunday, we watched Queer as Folk. I can't believe there are only four more episodes remaining, ever. It makes me want to cry. :o(

Backtracking a bit...Saturday afternoon Samantha and I attended Tom and Laura's picnic. Tom's father recently got engaged and it was also his birthday. Laura's parents were there, too. It was a lot of fun and there was so much food and drink. But, the interesting part is that I met someone. Honestly, Samantha and I planned on going over and having fun but leaving and spending the rest of the day at home, most likely wathing Ab Fab. That never happened. And, I'm glad that it didn't. When we first arrived at Tom's, we were introduced to everyone and there was this guy standing next to Tom's refrigerator, and the first thing that I thought was "Damn. Could he be any cuter?" I couldn't help but take a second look...and a third. :o) Of course, then it dawned on me that he was probably related to someone (and straight) because half of the party was family of either Tom or Laura. :o( A short while later, Danny, Samantha, nameless-cutey and I were sitting at a table and he introduced himself (again) to everybody, making note to look at me first and shake my hand first. Excitement ran throughout my entire body. I didn't know what to say next. I had to find out. I needed to know. What team did he bat for? Later I found him and Samantha outside taking a bit of a smoke break and they started talking about Queer as Folk. Yup, he's on my team. I don't think I could have asked for anything more. That was Saturday. He left almost two hours ago for work and I can still smell his cologne on my shirt. Sadly, I must shower at some point. :o)

June2005: Six Days

Samanth, George and myself went over to house tonight to see what the painters had finished. We saw that they were completely done. We also saw that they must not be professional painters. *shrug* There isn't much we can do about it. At least things were painted. The best, in my opinion is the bathroom. Covering up the bright sky blue is the best part in the bathroom and it helps brighten it up so much. On the other hand, you can still see the blue in some spots and it is real streaky, but it is painted. My bedroom was supposed to be painted. Half of my bedroom is concrete block that was already painted white and the other half is brown paneling. Ugly! The painters repainted the already-painted white concrete block. Argh. I am going to have to paint because there is no way that I am going to be able to stand brown paneling.

June2005: Seven Days

It was another day in paradise. Not. Well, I can't really complain. I had a decent-to-good day at work. It went fast and there weren't a lot of problems. It was just another normal day in the life of Chad. :o)

I can't wait to move in. We are going to have so much fun. I love Samantha to death. She is a lot of fun and I will be able to see her every day. Yay. I learned today that we are getting a new furnace installed in the fall because our landlord doesn't want to deal with cleaning/repairing the ancient piece of junk that is currently in the house now. And, the central air works beautifuly, so we shouldn't have any hot sweaty days indoors. We do have a lot of work ahead of us before we can move in. There is a lot of cleaning indoors that needs to be done. There are a lot of things that need to be done both indoors and outdoors after we move in. But, those things can wait until after we have physically moved in.

June2005: Eight Days

Yesterday we went to Ollie's to get carpet for our bedrooms and George went to pick it up today after work. After we got back from Ollie's, we went over to the new house and cleaned up a bit. Samantha cleaned up her new dresser, George ripped out a large bush that was growing next to the garage, and I was cleaning up around the house. I was taking nails and screws out of the wall; there were a lot of them. We ripped out closet shelves so we could install wire shelving for more storage. I took down some random things that were hanging in the basement and we also took down the draperies/drapery rods. The painters started working last week and hopefully they will finish sometime this week. Over the weekend and into the beginning of next week, we are getting a side extension added to our driveway, which will help with parking. I can't wait to move. We only have eight days left until we can move into our new place!

June2005: Not My Size

I went shopping with Samantha last night. I love shopping with Samantha. We have so much fun together. She always tells me the same thing after we're exhausted from trying on everything that looks remotely cute. She values my opinion and I value her opinion. We just have so much fun when we are out shopping together. We don't care about people around us. We are loud and just have fun trying on things and making fun of some of the ugliest things out on the market. :o)

Our entire point of going to the mall last night was to get free makeup and perfume from Victoria Secrets. Of course we had to go shoe shopping. It is always depressing that women have so many more choices when it comes to shoes, as compared to men. Also, women are able to find shoes are a decent price or on sale, while men are stuck with $50+ on almost everything. Blah. We also went into Deb, Aéropostale, and American Eagle to name just a few. I love American Eagle. Of course, everything I liked wasn't in my size or was ridiculously expensive. Everything Samantha was picking out for me wasn't in my size either and, of course, was on sale. Argh.

I absolutely love the introduction/theme to this season of Queer as Folk, which also happens to be the final season. The show has matured so much over the past five years and you can tell from the introduction. The music is much stronger and more powerful than past seasons. It also makes you think where each character might go this season and what will happen to each one after the season finale. It's really sad. I have grown so attached to each of the characters and for it all to come to an end in just a couple of months is really heartbreaking. *sigh*

I'm also going to be taking measurements for my basement bedroom because I need to have carpet install, and I need to get dimensions for my new bedroom so I can start planning on my new rollercoaster design (more on that later). We also have to be there on this date so Adelphia can set up out cable services. We don't move in until June 15, but we saved a bundle by taking advantage of some offers they had if we had services installed by the end of May. One step closer to the big move!

May2005: My Guide to Life

  1. If you are going to play games, always have a prize for the winner or loser; then, at least they will know that they are in the game.
  2. Feel good about yourself. I want someone who doesn't have a "pity-me complex."
  3. Do not "show me the money."
  4. Have a good time despite the other person; if you can't enjoy yourself, enjoy someone else.
  5. I like spontanity as much as the next guy, but have some balance.
  6. If you tell a joke, let it be the fastest...not the longest running.
  7. There is no such thing as a boring moment, only boring people.
  8. It's okay to lie to me, just remember what you said, because I have a great memory.
  9. If you don't make sense and I don't make sense, maybe we make sense together.
  10. Give a damn about something.
  11. Look at me and ask me, do not be afraid to be turned down. Everyone gets turned down, not everyone asks.
  12. Hide some of yourself from me; I like to play explorer.
  13. Never stick your tongue out at me unless you plan on using it.
  14. Smile when you swear at me.
  15. Never pass up a moment of comfortable silence.
  16. Have an answer to easy questions like, "How was your day?"
  17. Make your drama interesting, not life-consuming.
  18. If you have a pair, good for you, if you don't, get the fuck out of my way.
  19. Have friends...not exclusivly me.
  20. Do not get offended easily; life is too short.
  21. No belching or other odius personal behavior on at least the first three dates.
  22. I love making decisions, that does not mean you can not.
  23. Know the shit you say you know, because I know a lot of shit.
  24. Do not try to complete me and I will not tell you that I am complete already.
  25. Make something sinful...why? Because, you need to be bad to know good.
  26. Love your friends, but lust me.
  27. Know when enough is enough.
  28. Have a mean streak...no one likes a goody goody gumdrop.
  29. Do not tell me your mother is your best friend.
  30. Be jealous...it turns me on.
  31. If I promise you roses...you're getting roses.
  32. Have a job or something to do.
  33. Make me take out the garbage by bribing me with a kiss.
  34. Banter with me.
  35. Disagree with me. I'm still right, but if you're cute enough I'll change my mind.
  36. Let's be civil. Unless I'm flipping you off.
  37. Miss me when I'm gone because you know I'm thinking about what I'm going to do to you when I get back.
  38. Be nice to come home to after a long day's work.
  39. Take pride in your "self."
  40. Please have your heartbroken before me...I don't want to be anyone's first love...simply their last love.

Edit: I did not write the above list. I came across it on the Internet several years past and I liked many of the things that were stated.

I guess we are having a small birthday party for myself and George in July and we are going to have a Halloween party, Christmas party and New Year's Eve party this year! It's going to be crazy. March2005: Eat, Eat, Drink & Be Merry

Yesterday, I had quite a lot to eat in a short amount of time. While, it is generally a good idea to have solid food in one's stomach before drinking, I overdid it.

Around 3pm I went to Denny's with Chris and we had breakfast and we left there around 4pm.

Danny and I had plans to have a nice dinner at Claire's house at 6pm so I ended up stuffing my face with another full plate of food and then dessert! We left her house around 8:30pm. During the time at Claire's, I only had two glasses of wine, which usually doesn't do anything for me, however, I forced myself to eat at her house, as not to seem rude. The food was really good. :o)

When Danny and I got back to our apartment, Justin and Jerry were already here and no sooner did I sit down at my computer, Dan and Andy walked in. We all did a shot. For the record, I hate spiced rum. I would much rather have a shot of regular rum, but we had that last week and they wanted spiced rum this week. I had them make me a half-shot. As soon as I dd the shot, I knew something was wrong and I ended up in the bathroom emptying my stomach of yesterday's events. It was gross. After clearing my throat and nasal cavity of the nasty smell and taste, I felt blah and wasn't really in the mood to go out dancing, although I did go out.

At Players I had two drinks, both of which I did not finish. They weren't hitting me at all and no matter how hard I tried, I didn't want to eat or drink anything. So, I ended up leaving Players shortly after 1am and after only taking a handful of pictures.

I don't feel like I normally do on a Monday and that is most likely attributed to the fact that I didn't drink a lot last night. I feel fine, actually. But, at the same time I feel weird and disoriented. I want Saturday back. :o(

I don't appreciate it when people continually assume one thing when it isn't true no matter how many times you tell them. For example, with Jason, he feels so strongly that I am not able to committ. He says he is/was in love with me and fell for me so quickly and that I am juvenile and not able to committ to someone "that would of done everything they could of to make [me] happy." I'm sorry, that is bullshit. It has (it had) nothing to do with committment, but more rather a few things I just told him over IM. He also went on to say that by not telling being open and honest with him that we'd ruin our friendship. Well, I was as open and honest with him that I could be and I'm sure that is going kill any friendship there could have been/was. His loss, not mine.

We were supposed to watch movies and play games, but of course that didn't happen. We started drinking almost immediately and the night went on from there. The entire evening started around 8pm and everyone was trashed by 11pm, when Dan and Andy left. By this point Jeremy was on the floor of Danny's bathroom and Laura was watching over him. Tom, of course, was on gay.com almost the entire evening.

It was a cold and windy Thanksgiving Day. The chicken and ham were in the oven. The side dishes were about to be prepared. I was beginning to put the first 100 out of the 1150 lights on my artificial christmas tree when I smelled it. And, I saw it. Smoke! Yes, Smoke. Samantha was in the kitchen and had recently basted the chicken and apparently left an oven mit inside the oven. Upon opening the oven door a flame almost two feet high lit up the front of the oven. What did we learn from this? Absolutely nothing other than don't let a woman that has been known to set ovens on fire near your oven. This is her second oven-related fire in less than three weeks. Oh, and don't drink lots of wine while preparing dinner.

November2004: End Of The Week

I'm glad that this week is finally over. The previous week was honestly the worst week of my life. However, this week was incredibly better. :o) My cell phone was turnred back on Friday morning. September2004: Labor Day 2004

I really didn't do anything yesterday. Shortly after I crawled out of bed, I decided that I couldn't stand the smell of cigarette smoke so I needed to shower. After I was all clean and dressed, I just pissed around in my bedroom for a while. Occasionally I would step out into the living room to catch a glimpse of what Lifetime or Hallmark movie that my roommate, Danny, was watching. He was a couch potatoe yesterday. Then, for the majority if the day I practiced using my knitting machine. That was an interesting experience in itself. I tried out some new techniques; I tried the lace pattern that I snapped a picture of at the grocery store, as well as a baby blanket pattern that I previously hand knit. I became rather frustrated with the latter so I went and watched a movie with my roommate on the Hallmark channel. Sadly, that is about as much as there is to me day because I went to bed not long after 10:00 am.

I got my knitting machine earlier this week and I have yet to knit a single stitch on it. It has been an interesting and distracting week. I haven't really felt like knitting or really anything else that I would normally do. I have no idea what I am going to do this Labor Day weekend. I get Monday off and I get paid for it, which will be nice. Most of you reading this have my number, so call me and let's do something! :o)

Today was an extremely long and tiring day. For some reason it stretched on like there was no tomorrow. I'm just glad that it is finally over and I can head to bed. Hopefully, I will get up early enough in the morning to get a haircut before I have to be in to work (around 10am). It really needs to be cut; it is getting way too long. August2004: Forget It

Recently, I've come to realize that people are not always honest or decide against saying what is on their mind and instead avoid the subject (or me) altogether. This never really bothered me in the past. It does now. Nobody is perfect; I know that. Everybody lies in one form or another, whether it is intentional or to protect someone or something. Everybody does. But, when someone avoids a topic (or me) because s/he is afraid that it would hurt my feelings or they want to be a nice person, it really p!sses me off. I really can't say anymore without using names, so I will leave it at that.

August2004: Game Night

Tonight was my first time ever playing Scattergories. Danny, Tad, Justin, Jarret, and myself played that game tonight. I had a lot of fun, even though I was probably the worst player. If I wasn't, I was easily second to the worst. For some reason I can't think of answers quick enough and I don't seem to know enough pop culture that was helpful in the game. It didn't help, either, that hard letters kept popping up every other category/list that we had to do. Phooey.

Tom and Brian were supposed to stop over and hang out tonight. They brought over a plate of freshly baked cookies and then went out to dinner (and they were supposed to come back). They never showed up at our place. They either had a long dinner and went home or they never wanted to come over in the first place. In either case, they should have at least called and let us know that they were not coming over; they could have made up some lame excuse. *sigh* Ditched again...

August2004: I Begin To Wonder

I just rearranged my bedroom. When my parents were up last week they gave me a dresser because I didn't have one and up until tonight it was a nice cluttered buffet in the middle of my bedroom. I decided I didn't like the way that the room was set up and there wasn't a convenient place to put the dresser, so I rearranged everything. My bed is now on the complete opposite wall (for those of you who have been privy to my bedroom). My computer desk is now located at the opposite corner of the room, against the wall to the left of where it previously sat. My papasan is located in the corner where my twisy colour lamp sat. It's like my little knitting corner now. :o) And, I can still watch movies/tv on my computer from it. I should win an award for this.

August2004: Light-Headed Confusion

Last night I walked over to Brian and Tom's new place and hung out for a bit. I was having some chest pains and initially brushed them off. Brian made me two Hot Pockets; they were really good. Thank you, Brian. Tom and I fiddled with his wireless Internet over there and I couldn't get my laptop to connect because he is using Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA) instead of Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP). I tried to update the software/driver for my Linksys WPC11 but it doesn't seam to recognize the new driver. It is happily sticking with the old driver. Argh...

I decided to head back to my place when I was getting sleepy and my chest pains weren't getting any better. When I got back here, I practically knocked right out. I was so light-headed and so tired that I just fell asleep in my clothes with my door wide open and that was it. My roommate, Danny, came into my room and woke me up about something but I can't remember what for. :o|

July2004: Listen To Me Go

My stomach aches and I cannot sleep. :o( Tonight we are going out to Players and hopefully I feel better by then. We should have a good time...hopefully. I just wish I could sleep so that I could get some rest.

I'm excited that I am getting my newer car this week. It is driving me crazy to have to wait until Wednesday. I'm ramlbing. Listen to me go. :o\

Right now I'm listening to the first disc of a two-disc remix set, NYC Underground something-or-other. Coincidentally, a lot of the tracks are those which were played at Players in the spring of 2003 when I went out religiously every Sunday night. I miss those days. I miss going out with Jeff, Brad, Will, and whoever else we could coax along with us. Sami went to Players last fall with us. We first went to Chumley's and then down to Players. We had a lot of fun. Oh, and I can't forget the time that we went to Players after the Prince concert. We walked from the Bryce Jordan Center to Players and then after Players when we were tipsy we walked back to my apartment complex and ate pizza. That was fun. :o)

Jen is pregnant and her due date is September 25, 2004 (two months to go). She is really excited and I am excited for her. This will be her first (and I don't think it will be her last, either). According to the sonograms, she will be having a girl.

It is going to feel weird to not have to shift while driving. 'eh, I'll survive. It is also going to be weird because I will actually have a working parking break. My old/current car does not have a working parking break, sort of. "Set it and forget it" as Ron Popeil put it. It worked, but you couldn't release it. Hence, it really was an emergency break - to be used only in a real emergency. I'm moving up in the world, lol.

I tend to waste my evenings by not doing a single thing! How I go about accomplishing this, I haven't quite figured out. *sigh*

July2004: Car Furniture

We will be getting furniture to fill the void in our living room on either the 29th or 30th of July. My mom bought a living room set off of a friend that she works with and she and my dad will bring it down later this month. As of right now we have a 46” HDTV and a '70s floral loveseat in our living room. It doesn't leave much room for friends to sit, hang out and watch movies. This will remedy that!

On another note, I am going to be getting a new(er) car that same week (probably the 28th). My current car is rusting away on me and needs a lot of body work and hence will not pass inspection. My parents have been nice enough to locate a white '93 Pontiac Grand Prix that I will soon be the owner of. I'm excited. Even though it isn't extremely new, it is newer and that is all that matters to me. :o)

Life is full of stress sometimes. *remembers that he must breathe* Sometimes I like to close my eyes and imagine myself with Dusty or my knitting and nothing else. October2003: Pasttime Music

I love music. It is plain and simple. I honestly don't know what I would do if I had to do without music for any great length of time. I'm glad that I can listen to music at work. It definitely helps my day pass, albeit long. I find it very relaxing to put on some music and relax whether it be knitting (my current love), or working on something on my computer (another love of mine) or just about anything else except watching television. I love to fall asleep to music because it takes me mind away from things and I slowly slip into a deep sleep and I think it helps me sleep better, but I don't always get to fall asleep to music. I can remember using my first discman and a pair of over-the-head headphones and picking out a CD every night just before it was time to crawl into bed and listening to that CD falling asleep. I don't have that discman any longer. I, literally, would use it daily. When I came home from school (high school at this point...you need to remember discmans weren't around when I was in elementary school) and I would slip on the headphones, pop in a CD and continue whatever I was doing for the rest of the evening. I ended up going through batteries like crazy and eventually made the switch to rechargeable batteries, but even they only last so long before they have to be replaced. I think I could have lit a small town for a good month on the amount of battery power that I utilized during my high school years. *sigh* Those were the days.
