July2006: Formal, Not By Choice

Tomorrow afternoon is Ned & Gillian's wedding. Frank and I went shopping last night and bought them a wedding gift; hopefully, they will like it. I can't say what we got for them (yet) because if they read this that will spoil the surprise! Now comes the thrilling task of wrapping their wedding gift.

I'm not really thrilled that I have to wear formal clothing tomorrow, especially since it is only the wedding reception. I definitely wouldn't show up in torn jeans or shorts with a tasteless t-shirt. But, I would like to be able to wear a nice pair of dark blue jeans with a nice brown leather shoe and my khaki corduroy sportcoat. Formal clothing is so uncomfortable. Blah.

July2006: The Show

As mentioned previously, we went to see the fireworks last night. We got a late start heading over to the BJC so we were trucking it when we left here last night. The fireworks had started before we even got near the BJC so we took over a patch of grass on campus where a bunch of other people were sitting. I fell asleep during the fireworks and woke up during the finale. Oops! I was tired.

July2006: Happy Independence Day!

Have a safe and happy Independence Day.We are having a cookout with a few friends. We're hanging out, drinking and playing cards. Later this evening we will be heading on down to the BJC to catch the fireworks. Hopefully, it doesn't rain. It was a lot of fun last year and hopefully it'll be just as much fun if not more, this year.

June2006: Replaced

As mentioned in an earlier post, I ripped my left contact lens and had to go to Walmart Vision Center to get a replacement. The optometrist was really helpful and he gave me a replacement lens in no time. I went to get a replacement on my lunch break, so I had just enough time to run there and get the replacement lens and then come home to get the other lens and put them in my eyes. It was so nice to be able to see clearly once they were in!

June2006: Ripped

I ripped my first contact lens this morning. I'm not exactly sure how it ripped; I just know that a chunk of it ripped off. And, since I was on my trial pair, the replacement cost for a single lens is the same price as a full box of lenses, which pisses me off. I woke up. I showered. I put my right contact in my eye. I was putting my left contact in my eye, it fell off of my finger onto the counter and it was in two pieces. Argh. This is so annoying. Now I have to deal with my severely scratched glasses. I'm not in the mood to go to work. I'm too pissed off.

June2006: Contact Lenses

aIt looks like I am going to be getting contact lenses, or at least trying them for a week. When I was at my eye appointment this past Saturday, I asked the optometrist about contact lenses. She said that I was a valid candidate for them, as not everyone is. I have an appointment this Wednesday for my "contact lenses training" and that is when I will get a pair of contact lenses to wear/use for a week. Then, I will go back for a follow-up appointment, at which point I can decided if I want contact lenses, and if so, I can purchase them. I can't wait to see again!

June2006: Too Tired

I'm way too tired this morning to accomplish much of anything, let alone go to work. I really hope my (work) day goes quickly because I am in so need of a nap, yet I just woke up a little over an hour ago. I was up late last night. Amy and I finished watching of Project Runway Season 1 and it was really good, but because we went to the mall earlier that evening, we were up late and I didn't get enough sleep. I could lay down right now on my bed or the couche and drift off to dreamland. It would be so nice!

June2006: Kicked Out

Yet again, I am extremely exhausted from getting up early, going to work and doing a lot of physical labour. At least I have tomorrow off. I can sleep in a bit later than I usually do. But, I can't sleep in because I have a lot planned for tomorrow.

Last night Frank replaced my bed with his bed as it is much larger. One drawback, however, was that my desk was way too close to the bed and that made it uncomfortable to sit at/near my desk. So, I moved my desk and computers into his room along with my smaller bed. So, we practically switched rooms, which is a real bummer. I feel like I was kicked out of my own room, again. Ugh. And, because of the switch and having to remove stuff from a storage closet so it could be made into a clothes closet for him, I have a lot of boxes/totes to go through, sort, unpack, etc. It is going to take me the better part of tomorrow.

Tomorrow afternoon I have an eye appointment so that I can get my eyes checked and get new glasses. My glasses have been broken (and consequently glued together) for the past four or five months. The left lens is really scratched now, from the glue-removal between re-glueing. It's nearly impossible for me to read text at even close distances and late in the day I get horrible headaches, which I am sure is due to my failing prescription. I think I am going to ask about contact lenses. I'll most likely end up with another pair of glasses, but at least I can find out some more information. I don't think I would be too keen about putting a finger that close to my eye, though. I couldn't even let Amy put eye-liner on me last Halloween!

October2003: Alive & Well

I had a bad dream last night that Dusty killed himself and I found out just before I went into work today. I was so scared. I was in tears. I wanted to die. Thank God that he is alive. I can safely go into work now. I love him almost too much.

September2003: Full House

It's a full house! Dusty is here this weekend, as previously mentioned, and Will is staying with us this weekend because he's in State College to party and hang out. Jeff and Jamie stopped in to take a look at our place. They went to the football game today. Everybody is just kind of hanging out. I'm working on my scarf, we're watching TV (in two different rooms) and just enjoying the rainy day.

September2003: A Dusty Weekend

Dusty is coming here this weekend. I'm so excited. I'll be leaving directly from work Friday evening on the long round trip to pick him up. So, it'll be between 1:00 am and 2:00 am Saturday before we get back here. Oh well. I don't have to work Saturday so it doesn't matter. I'll just have to remember to set the alarm or we'll sleep through the day!

September2003: Bitchy Psycho Girl

Oy vei! Where do I start? Dusty had to remove his website because of a psycho girl that was posting threatening comments in his guestbook. I guess the girl's mother contacted the police and a lot happened and the cop(s) instructed him that he needed to take his website offline. That is bullshit, if you ask me. If someone makes threatening comments on my site, then they will stay there for the world to see. Once you make a post on my site, it becomes my property. Try me, bitch.

I can't think right now. I seem to have lost my train of thought.

September2003: Manic Sunday?

Today was a long and stressful day, but it turned out to be a good day in the end. I spent the day with Dusty. Although we really didn't do much of anything, it was nice to just spend time with him. I knit a couple more blocks of colour into my scarf, now totalling 10 rows of colour. He didn't work on his scarf. We watched a lot of television and he tried to make me tater tots and the house filled up with smoke. *cough, cough* When I came home and unpacked my bag, I noticed he threw in his stuffed Smuckers Uncrustable. I smiled.
