I cannot believe that it is going to be Christmas Eve in less than one hour. This year has gone fast, especially this past month. The time between Thanksgiving and Christmas flies. I still don't have all of my shopping done but it doesn't look like I am going to finish, either.
In the morning, I have to get up (pack?) and go to work. Afterwards (4:30 pm), I have to come home, finish packing and leave. I am going to miss the Christmas get-together on my father's side of the family this year. His side of the family gets together Christmas Eve and has dinner, exchanges gifts and spends time together. I won't be getting back into my hometown until between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm. :o(
On Christmas Day, we open gifts as a family and then in the early afternoon we have Christmas with my mother's side of the family. In the (quite long ago) past, we used to get together at my mother's parent's house. Not long after my Uncle John moved into his most recent house, we started gathering there. For some unknown reason (to me), this year we are getting together at my mother's parent's (now my Uncle Larry's) house. This will be the first time I will have stepped foot into that house since at least one of my grandparent's were still living. I may have been there after my grandmother passed away but before my grandfather passed away. I'm not entirely sure. Either way, it is going to be weird to be there without them. I'm curious, though, as to what things my Uncle Larry has changed and what things he hasn't. It could be a very emotional, too. :o\
